Instead of going outside and playing, they tend to hang out indoors, watching TV and playing computer and video games. Along with lack of physical activity comes the convenience of fast food. There are fast food restaurants virtually around every corner, and they have easy access to snack foods full of saturated fats and sugars.

Since so much of our time growing up is spent watching TV, and so many parents use TV to entertain and “baby-sit,” much of our earliest learning and world perspectives are formed while sitting in front of a TV screen.
And when children watch television, usually they eat some snack or non-nutritious snack while watching and never stop to chewing something in their mouth. So don’t let your children eat while watching television.
It’s important for parents to be role models to their children and emphasize the importance of physical activity and healthy eating.
